C-23 Sherpa and the 10th MAS

The C-23 Sherpa was a light military transport aircraft based on the Shorts 330 and Shorts 360 that served in the U.S. Air Force for its European Distribution System Aircraft (EDSA) program, operated for a short time in Europe by the 10th MAS (Military Airlift Squadron) based at Zweibrücken AB, Germany. The C-23As, based on the Shorts 330, were used to shuttle spare parts between U.S. Air Force maintenance and distribution centers and front-line bases in Europe from 1984 until march 1991. Often seen at bases like Soesterberg AB, on a daily basis actually with the famous call-sign ‘ Pokey” .
